The plot will keep evolving and the characters will keep vanishing — just watch Star Idol Malaysia and SMS your choice.

AN interactive reality show focused on acting, Star Idol Malaysia has chosen the top eight finalists after six elimination rounds.

They are Mayjune, MJ, Monday, Ivan, Hishiko, Kyo, Faye and Lex who have been cast in the interactive drama The Legend of a Star, which began its run over ntv7 last Friday at 9.30pm to showcase their talents.

It centres on a young lady struck by a deadly disease who nevertheless is determined to fulfil her dream of producing a stage play. The series also features Phyllis Sim, Guat Ting, Tong Xing, Yvonne Teoh and Zhang Jue Long.

Throughout the shows, each contestant will play his/her fixed roles. As a contestant is eliminated each week, his/her character will also “disappear” and as a result, the plot of the drama will constantly evolve.
The final two contestants will compete with each other in the grand finale on Oct 21 for the coveted title of the first Star Idol Malaysia. This reality show sees viewers determining the casting and plot development through SMS voting.

“It was apparent that many Malaysians are keen to make a career in the television and film industry. Judging from our nationwide auditions, the interactive-cum-reality drama has received astounding response from Malaysians from all walks of life, all hoping to be the next big actor or actress,” said ntv7 general manager of brand management, Janice Cheng

“The eight finalists have come a long way from being among the 1,000 hopefuls who auditioned in March. They were short-listed to 100 and attended a closed audition in early April. From those try-outs, the final 20 participants were selected to take part in the actual programme.

“The competition has been increasingly stiff as the weeks passed. There is a need for new talents to grace television screens. We hope to fulfil this need with this show,” added Janice.

Tune in to ntv7 every Friday at 9.30pm for the show and every Saturday at 10.15pm for the results. For more information, visit www.ntv7.com.my.
